My love of stories began very early on, with works like Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, Wild Magic (Tamora Pierce), and The Lightning Thief. I read everything I could get my hands on, and then my middle school teacher began to read Shakesepare to my sixth grade class, where my love of language itself sparked into wanting to write my own stories. I studied grammar and vocabulary and began to pen novels and find my own voice. I headed up my high school's Creative Writing club and mentored younger writers.

I went to college in Virginia, convinced that I would be working toward a Creative Writing degree while also riding for the college equestrian team, but then I fell in love with communication and that became my degree field. I studied abroad in England and even took courses that let me hold ancient texts and use a restored, functional print press. Throughout college, I tutored other students, giving advice on writing, editing, and citations.

As an author myself, I'm familiar with the challenges of querying and indie publishing, not to mention the struggle with imposter syndrome, procrastination, and writer's block.
